As children, we're all asked the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" How did you answer?

I always wanted to be an astronaut.

What have been the most defining moments along your career path?

My job as a fast boat commander has probably given me the most confidence in knowing that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.

How did you get your big breaks?

By working hard.

What was the best advice you received when you were first starting out in your career?

Do something that you like. It's so much more fun.

What have you learned from your experience?

I've learned that relationships are just as important as becoming an expert in your field.

What most excites you about your job right now?

It's school. 2-year vacation.

What would you like to have achieved by the last day of your career?

To leave a legacy.
