Having a personal trainer is like having a personal coach, someone with the knowledge and experience -- and the motivational abilities -- to help people reach their fitness goals. More than that, though, the personal trainer has to be someone who can make people want to meet their fitness goals. It?s a skill that many either have or don?t, and can be hard, if not impossible, to learn.
Education: Most employers, and many clients, will want someone with Personal Trainer Certification. Some clubs may also require a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology.
Experience: Years of fitness work and the body to prove it. Extensive experience with various types of exercise equipment. Also work as a personal trainer for a corporate center or private club prior to starting out on your own.
Resume Builders: Keep and maintain a high level of physical fitness. You body is your own best advertisement. Develop strong inter-personal skills. The personal trainer must be a motivator.
Salary: By the hour, pay ranges from $25 - $500 dollars depending on client base, location and experience.
